A story by News Limited on news.com.au reports that many Australians are keeping phones that are more than 10 years old. Mobile Muster, an organisation that recycles old cell phones, has done a study to try and work out how many old phones are out thre – waitiing to be recycled!
They still get phones made in 1987, and a large proportion of the mobile phones they receive were made in 2005 and before.
In fact, there are so many phones out there, that with their materials, 3.2 million aluminium drink cans could be made!
The average price of a used mobile phone on Ebay Australia is $20, so if you are reading this and you have some old phones in your closet, why don’t you whack them up on Ebay and make some cash? It’s easy: you can register here!
