Jeff Bertolucci at PC world wrote a nice piece about Sprint’s new Buyback programme.
In a nutshell, you can take your old cell phones into one of over 1000 stores and receive credit on your account. They are not offering huge cash – a Blackberry 9700 Bold (released in November 09) is worth around $161. Still, if you want to help the environment now you can be compensated for doing so.
Sprint is the only US carrier offering cash for cell phones. The other carriers all have programmes, but either donate the cell phones to charity, or simply recycle them for parts and other industrial uses.
While, I think helping the environment is reward enough, I have to give Kudos to Sprint for doing something that should help actually recycle a large amount of old cell phones.
I have 2 lg Tribute phones with broken screens not even a year old. They both still work very good. Can I get store credit for these
